A Very Rare Example of an Early Yellow Ground Serving Tray from Meissen Circa 1735. The Painting of Yellow was one of if not the most difficult colours of paint to create in the early years of making porcelain. The Central Panel has a Scene of People at Leisure, Women Playing Cards whilst the Men look on, Behind them there is a Gent Holding a Woman whilst Smoking a Huge Pipe. To the Left there is a View of a Town in the Distance. The Rim has 10 panels with various other scenes divided by elaborate gilt panels. Has the Early Cross Swords Marks to the Base and Drehers Mark for Schiefer...
Size: 44cm long x 34.5cm wide x 4.5cm high
Condition: Minor Wear, Slight firing mark under the cross swords.... NO Restoration, Chips or Cracks
