A Porcelain Presentation Cup And Saucer by the Popov Factory, Moscow, circa 1850


Of tapering cylindrical form, the cobalt ground painted body decorated en grisaille with an oval medallion depicting a panorama of Possibly St Petersburg framed within a gilt band, with a gilt stylised rocaille design on the cobalt ground, the gilt handle simulating entwined branches, the circular saucer with a white ground centre and similar gilt rocaille design on the cobalt ground body with floral arrangements, gilt rims, marked under base with blue Cyrillic monogram 'AP' and impressed 6, 8 on both pieces

Condition: Crazed line on Underside of Saucer and Minor chip on the rim of the Saucer (see Photos)
