A Very Rare Pair of Sevres Pommade Jars, Painted by Louis-Jean Thévenet père with Floral Garlands and Blue Pattern, Similarities with the Garrick Tea Service in the V&A that Louis-Jean Thévenet père also decorated. Both Pommade Jars have is i or Pin mark to the Base and Date Letter for 1765.

Louis-Jean Thévenet père was originally a Fan Maker before joining Vincennes and later Sevres where he painted Birds and Flowers. He was highly regarded as an Artist and who was known associated with a particular ground colour bleu lapis (Lapis-Lazuli Blue)... Later His Daughter would also paint for the Sevres Factory.

Condition: One with sligh hairline and lid rim chip, the other is fine.
