This uncommon shape was likely made for the European market. Bowls of this type are discussed by John Sandon, Dictionary of Worcester Porcelain (1993), p.85. A slightly larger example in blue and white from the Pauline and David Tate Collection was sold by Bonhams 18 - 19 June 2024, lot 360.

 Possibly painted by James Giles of James Rogers, (James rogers was known to have worked in the factory in the 1750s)
