Viennese Porcelain Cups with Du Paquier Salamanders, 1744

An extremely rare pair of Vienna Cups made from the early takeover period from Du Paquier by The Royal Family in 1744 until this time Du Paquier pieces were unmarked. It was The Royal Family that began marking products with an impressed shield (known as the Beehive mark). The decoration of the Salamanders shows the influence of Du Paquier decoration was still evident commonly used and by other factories like Meissen in the early years, impressed shield marks, impressed "L" and "42." in purple to one. Museum Pieces
(An attached photo of Du Paquier Porcelain Book "Fired by Passion" shows the Salamander on the cover)
